I’m constantly blown away by the generosity and creative ways you all choose to support Spokane Riverkeeper. And the following is no exception. This is from Ellen Picken, a great local artist and supporter of Spokane Riverkeeper and many other great environmental organizations and causes.
From artist Ellen Picken:
For the month of September to coincide with Spokane Riverkeepers’ Dirty Martinis for Clean Water art sale and dinner, I am opening my studio to you. Proceeds from sales will help Riverkeepers keep our water clean, wild and beautiful.
From childhood on, I played along the shore of the Spokane, swam in it, floated down its path. Over time my sense of self came to reflect its living qualities. Keeping the Spokane clean is so important. Though we may swim in its waters, it is in us through the aquifer, air, soils and spirit. It affects us far beyond the flowing stream.
I invite you to come visit my studio in Republic, WA or visit www.ellenpicken.com. Please send me an email for inquiries or to arrange a visit. picken.e@gmail.com
I will be one of 10 invited artists at the Dirty Martinis for Clean Water event so please join us there if you can.
Works in the studio include pieces created in Berlin, shown in Seattle, recently shown at the Chase Gallery and as of yet unseen!
