Like it or not, filtered photos are all the rage, so I’m interested to see just how awesome our Spokane River can look beneath the artsy filters of Instagram. And there’s no better time than the Fall to make it happen. So bust out those iPhones people and get to ‘gramming.
It’s back to school time, meaning every second of campus life is currently being documented on the wildly popular free photo sharing and social network Instagram. Quick, how much does a hipster weigh?
Who am I kidding. I love the Instagram. Can’t get enough of those digital filters and all the love people show to my amateur iPhone photography skills. Spokane Riverkeeper loves the Instagram too. We set up an account this summer and we snapped some pretty fun pictures of the Spokane River (find us @SpokaneRiverKpr)
Which brings me to this, our Fall Instagram contest – our Contestagram.
For the months of September and October we want to see your best Instagrammed pictures of the Spokane River, Hangman Creek and the Little Spokane River. As you all know, September and October are the months why we live in the Inland Northwest. Unbeatable weather and amazing colors. So while you’re out and about, snap an Instagram of our region’s premier water resources and tag them with the hash tag #rkcontestagram or just our profile @SpokaneRiverKpr with an indication that the photos are for the Riverkeeper Contestagram. At the end of October we’ll pick the top three photos and put them up for a vote on our Facebook page. By submitting photos, you are giving Riverkeeper the authority to post those pictures on our various web platforms. Which we hope you’re cool with!
We’ll have some awesome prizes figured out (remember we gave some Dry Fly swag last time we ran a photo contest), but at the very least you can expect the top three to walk away with some of our “GOOD COFFEE”.
Big thanks to Shawn Fredrickson for the cool Instagram of our Good Coffee. Here’s another cool Instagram of our coffee from our good friend moneeeq.
