Riverkeeper launching “Pollution Hotline”

In an effort to efficiently utilize you, those who care about the Spokane River, we recently launched a “Pollution Hotline” and we’re asking you to keep your eyes and ears open.

The Spokane River, its watershed and tributaries, and the Spokane Valley/Rathdrum Prairie aquifer face a constant threat from pollutants.  And in many instance, those threats go unnoticed due to many factors; a legacy of acceptance and a lack of oversight support being two of those.

In an effort to increase our vigilance, we recently launched a “Pollution Hotline“, a place for you to report any polluting you think should be looked in to.

If you see something or hear of something, simply visit our “Pollution Hotline” website and full out the simple form.  We’ll look in to each reported matter and get back to you with any relative information and/or developments.

The Spokane River is a great asset to Spokane, and the Spokane Riverkeeper is confident that the community cares about the River and is willing to take a stand to protect and and clean it up.

As a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, a few of the Spokane Riverkeeper’s objectives are to respond to citizen’s reports of pollution and adverse environmental impacts, to promote citizen advocacy and activism to protect the Spokane River, to be a voice of the Spokane River, using the tools of law, advocacy, education, monitoring and citizen participation, and to provide citizens the means to protect their resource.  Our new “Pollution Hotline” allows us to better accomplish these objectives.

We look forward to hearing from you, and working towards solutions so we eventually don’t have to have a pollution hotline.  Please share this link with your family, friends and colleagues,  in hopes that more river advocates lead to a cleaner Spokane River.
