Wednesday is deadline for those wishing to volunteer for a Spokane task force to review city’s initiative and referendum process.

In conjunction with the League of Women, the City of Spokane is seeking applicants to serve on an advisory task force to review Spokane’s process for ballot initiatives and referendums. The deadline for applying is Wednesday, January 6th.

The task force will be charged with evaluating the current process, reviewing past public testimony on the subject and hearing additional citizen comment. It will have up to 15 members who are intended to represent the city’s diversity. The task force is due to report back to the City Council by March 1.

Meetings dates for the Task Force, once it is selected, are:

*Wednesday, January 20th, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
*Wednesday, February 3rd, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
*Wednesday, February 19th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
*Wednesday, February 24th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
