A Community Building Thanksgiving

(VIDEO FEATURE) Volunteers pitch in to serve 175 of Spokane’s neediest.

Inspired, as always, by the gregarious hospitality of Community Building manager David Edwards, well over a dozen KYRS's Lupito Flores (right) banters with Community Building manager David Edwards in Saturday's buffet line.volunteers pitched in Saturday to provide a hot breakfast for Spokane’s homeless. During the two hour feast, more than 175 people came through the doors to partake of 14 egg casseroles, two turkeys, 8 fruit trays, 14 dozen pastries, 6 gallons of juice, a small boatload of milk, four pies and 150 cups of chill-busting coffee.

Among those who donated dishes for the event were The Rocket on Main, Isabbellas, the Coffee Social and the Women & Children’s Free Restaurant.

According to David and the Community Building Foundation’s Patty Gates, the hope is to continue hosting these breakfasts quarterly. If you’d like to help with future events, please let Patty know, via email or at 456-5977.
